The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) has welcomed the expansion of funded Hospital Pharmacy Intern and Foundation Resident positions in rural and regional Western Australia as a shot in the arm for workforce sustainability and medicines safety in the vast state.
SHPA has welcomed the Albanese Labor Government’s first Budget tonight, which addresses major issues facing Australia’s healthcare system through investment into Medicare, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) aged care and health workforce, amid focus on the economy, environment and cost-of-living pressures.
Accreditation of the AdPha Training Programs ensures hospital sites have the commitment, capacity and capability to offer a broad range of practice-based experiences to pharmacy Resident and/or Registrar Candidates.
Practice-based experiential training for early career pharmacists, or pharmacists entering hospital pharmacy practice via other pharmacy environments.
