Nashrah Alam named 2025 ANZCAP Pharmacy Student of the Year
Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) is proud to announce Nashrah Alam, a fourth-year University of Sydney student, as the ANZCAP Pharmacy Student of the Year for 2025.
Nashrah has been recognised for her outstanding achievements, leadership, and commitment to the profession, with her ANZCAP portfolio highlighting a remarkable breadth of experiences. From excelling academically with a distinction WAM, to serving as professional development officer in her student society, and working as a pharmacy technician across community and hospital settings, Nashrah has combined her studies with hands-on professional engagement. She has also undertaken an internship at a pharmaceutical company, gaining further insight into the sector.
While at times she felt stretched, Nashrah describes these diverse experiences as “a constellation slowly mapping out who I was becoming as a pharmacist and preparing me for our expanded scope of practice in the future.”
Her reflective approach to learning and leadership has been a defining feature of her journey. She recalls one of her clearest insights while standing beneath the Dubbo night sky after speaking with rural high school students about healthcare careers:
“I thought about the curiosity and enthusiasm of the high school students earlier in the day and realised that our impact as pharmacy students stretches far beyond what we immediately see. In that moment, I understood that I find motivation in learning new skills and inspiring the next generation.”
Nashrah credits reflection as her compass—helping her pause, prioritise and align her actions with service and leadership. Through ANZCAP, she has harnessed challenges as opportunities for growth, strengthening her capacity to guide and mentor others.
“Each experience, each challenge, each reflection expands my horizon, showing me that there is always more to learn and more to give,” Nashrah said.
AdPha congratulates Nashrah on this well-deserved honour and looks forward to seeing her continue to inspire her peers and future generations of pharmacists—proving that pharmacy students, like the universe, are defined not by their limits but by their capacity to keep exploring and expanding.
