Limitless possibilities take centre stage as MM2026 program is unveiled
With just over two months to go until Medicines Management 2026 (MM2026) marks its 50th edition of shaping the future of pharmacy, Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) has today unveiled the preliminary conference program, which will feature more than 30 invited speakers, 10 interactive workshops, 78 contributed papers and more than 350 posters.
Opening proceedings on Friday 23 October, the Hon. Emma McBride MP FANZCAP (Lead&Mgmt, MentalHlth) will address delegates in the opening plenary, setting the scene for three days of exploration, collaboration and innovation at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 22–24 October.
More than 1,200 pharmacy professionals are expected to attend the milestone event, which will be headlined by keynote speakers Dr Gemma Munro, Barry Du Bois and, newly announced, Royal Flying Doctor Pharmacist Elizabeth Doran. Elizabeth will share the remarkable story of delivering pharmacy care in remote Australia as part of the event’s final day.
With a program spanning every area of contemporary pharmacy practice, MM2026 will allow delegates to tailor their experience to their interests, specialty and career stage. From emerging technologies and breakthrough therapies to new evidence and evolving models of practice, the program is designed to put pharmacists, technicians and all pharmacy professionals in a ‘limitless’ frame of mind, ready to embrace change and shape what comes next.
Key highlights include a look at AI medical scribes and the future of clinical practice, how pharmacists can better demonstrate the value of pharmacy services to health executives, the latest advances in SC/LA antimicrobials and new agents, and how pharmacy can contribute to more environmentally and financially sustainable healthcare. The program will also explore the next evolution of pharmacy technician practice, reflecting the changing roles, skills and opportunities shaping the pharmacy workforce.
AdPha Vice President Brenda Shum FANZCAP (Lead&Mgmt) said the milestone conference was an opportunity for the profession to look beyond what is happening today and actively shape what comes next.
‘While this year’s milestone event is particularly special, the calibre and breadth of the MM2026 program is also exceptional.
‘Pharmacy is changing rapidly, and this program reflects that. From artificial intelligence and new therapies to sustainability, workforce evolution and demonstrating our value within health systems, MM2026 will challenge delegates to think differently about what is possible.
‘Most importantly, this is a program built around the future of our profession. It is an opportunity to learn from leading experts, share what is happening on the ground and leave with new ideas, practical insights and connections that can make a difference in practice.
‘MM2026 is our 50th celebration of Medicines Management, but it is firmly focused on the future. I encourage pharmacy professionals at every stage of their career to register early and start building their own personalised conference experience.’
MM2026 Early Bird registrations close 11.59pm AEST Wednesday 9 September.
