Training Program Accreditation - Community Pharmacy
Accreditation to the AdPha Training Programs ensures Banner Groups and community pharmacy sites have the commitment, capacity and capability to offer a broad range of practice-based experiences to pharmacy Resident Candidates.
AdPha Training Program accreditation gives sites access to the support and leadership they need to design and build curriculum relevant to theirs and their Candidates’ needs.

FAQs
The AdPha Accreditation Standards for Community Pharmacy Resident Training Programs establish criteria for Training Programs and community pharmacies to ensure their residency commitment is consistent with AdPha's requirements. They ensure that the environmental and programmatic settings for Candidate pharmacists are sufficient to achieve the relevant professional competencies in the delivery of patient-centred care and pharmacy services. A community pharmacy and banner group must demonstrate that the physical, organisational and cultural attributes of the pharmacy are aligned with AdPha's standards with respect to staff development and education. Community pharmacies who have been accredited by AdPha to offer a Training Program have demonstrated their compliance with the standards.
The Community Pharmacy Resident Training Program Framework establishes the program-specific requirements for an AdPha-accredited Training Site to deliver a residency pathway.
Community pharmacies wishing to become AdPha-accredited Training Sites will submit an online application to AdPha for Core Accreditation and apply for the relevant Program Approval (Resident Training Program or a Registrar Training Program pathway).
AdPha will review the submission and, if successful, grant Accreditation (valid for up to 2 years). Accreditation demonstrates that the site and its approved Training Program have demonstrated compliance with the standards and that the banner group and community pharmacies are able to implement the program.
Prior to the end of the 2-year accreditation period, the banner group and community pharmacies will undergo re-accreditation. This is to ensure the program is being delivered in accordance with standards (post-implementation). Re-accreditation and Program Approval may be granted for up to four years.
