ANZCAP is a landmark program recognising career progression and specialty skills, enabling pharmacists and technicians from all practice settings to be recognised for their experience and expertise.
ANZCAP’s recognition program enables the achievements of practitioners to be clearly and concisely understood by their employers and peers, and by healthcare colleagues.
ANZCAP supports pharmacists and technicians working in Australia and New Zealand to track and plan their career toward Pharmacist Resident, Pharmacist Registrar and Pharmacist Consultant (Fellow) recognition, conferring certification and use of ANZCAP post-nominals: ANZCAP-Res., ANZCAP-Reg., and FANZCAP. View guidelines on the use of ANZCAP post-nominals.
ANZCAP offers two pathways through which pharmacists and technicians can achieve recognition.
The Independent Pathway is available to Australian pharmacists across all practice settings to accumulate Learning Experiences (LXs) into a personal practice portfolio to meet requirements mapped to the National Competency Framework for Pharmacists in Australia (2016).
Training programs are formalised 2-year workplace-based experiential programs available at AdPha accredited sites providing a 'fast-track' to recognition at Pharmacist Resident and Pharmacist Registrar level.
Custom portfolios are now available for anyone to create and share a portfolio of professional achievements with external parties.
Later in 2024, the Independent Program will be available to New Zealand registered pharmacists, alongside recognition for Pharmacy Technicians.
ANZCAP is powered by an intuitive digital platform enabling practitioners to seamlessly record evidence of their experience and expertise and collate portfolios aligned with one or two of 46 specialty disciplines, via the Independent Program.
A joint initiative of Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) - formerly known as SHPA - and the New Zealand Hospital Pharmacy Association (NZHPA) ANZCAP is a leap forward for Australian and New Zealand health care which has been many years in the making.
It is a program built for the future in a time of change.
Start planning and managing your career and work towards gaining the recognition you deserve.
