

The Foundation Seminar in Nephrology will be delivered by combination of a self-paced learning package covering key nephrology topics followed by a one day live virtual seminar.
Both the self-paced package and live virtual seminar aim to improve pharmacists' knowledge and skills in providing care for patients with kidney disease. The seminar will provide opportunities to learn about pharmacy practice at a foundation level, covering topics including, Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), the management of complications of CKD, drug dosing in kidney impairment and renal replacement therapies.
Knowledge-check questions will be utilised in the self-paced learning package to assist in cementing attendees learning ahead of the live seminar day. Attendees will explore key concepts in greater detail in live case study sessions during the live virtual seminar. There will be opportunity for attendees to engage in Q&A with expert presenters during the live seminar day.
This seminar is targeted at pharmacists with either less than 5 years clinical experience, general medical experience who would like more exposure to foundational components of nephrology or those who may be transitioning into a specialist nephrology rotation.
The self-paced learning package comprises approximately 8 hours of learning materials and will be available from Friday 25 February 2022. The live virtual component of this seminar will take place on 2 April 2022.
