The Foundation Seminar in Haematology will be delivered by a combination of a self-paced online learning package and a one-day virtual seminar. It is designed to provide participants with key foundational skills to manage patients with a haematological malignancy.
Participants will gain an understanding of the governance and practicalities surrounding the provision of anti-cancer therapies and develop an understanding of basic pharmacology and common toxicities.
The sessions will focus on lymphoma and multiple myeloma management with an emphasis on common regimens, supportive medications, cancer associated thrombosis risk and infection prophylaxis. Case study sessions will provide an opportunity for participants to check chemotherapy orders and provide recommendations for supportive care.
The self-paced learning package comprises approximately 8 hours of learning material and will be available from the end of July 2023. The live virtual component of this seminar will take place on Saturday 2 September 2023.
