

This exciting extension seminar is designed to expand your knowledge and skills in the area of surgery and perioperative medication management. Attendees will delve deeper into the patient’s surgical journey, exploring medication management pre-operatively, intraoperatively and post-operatively. The seminar will include didactic sessions from multidisciplinary specialists focusing on preadmission clinic pharmacy services, theatre pharmacy services, anaesthetics, VTE prophylaxis, antimicrobials, intraoperative anaphylaxis, pain management and bariatric surgery including changes to the gastrointestinal tract and the impact on medication administration. The skills learned during these sessions will then be put to the test with integrated cases.
This seminar is designed for pharmacists who have experience in surgery and/or perioperative medicine. Warning: it will be fun, educational, and inspire you to continue to develop your clinical knowledge in surgery and perioperative medicine.
The self-paced learning package will be available in April 2022. The live virtual component of this seminar will take place on Saturday 7 May.
