

This seminar will provide an introduction to palliative care and will explore the pharmacist’s role within the interdisciplinary team caring for people with a terminal illness. It will offer an overview of the principles and philosophy that underpin the provision of a palliative approach to care. There will be an emphasis on symptom management and the use of medications within the broader context of holistic care, the patient’s phase of care and the setting of care provision.

This seminar will be delivered by a combination of self-paced learning and a half-day live virtual seminar.
The self-paced learning package comprises approximately 4.5hrs of materials and will be available from Friday 29 July 2022. The half-day live virtual seminar will take place on Saturday 10 September 2022. The start and finish times listed for the live virtual seminar are to be confirmed and may be updated upon finalisation of the program.

This activity has been accredited for 7.75 hours of Group-1 CPD and 2 hours of Group-2 CPD (for a total of 11.75 CPD credits), suitable for inclusion in an individual pharmacist’s CPD plan.
