Liz is a White Australian woman of Scottish and Colonial-Settler descent who lives and works on Yidindji Country. She has been working part-time as a Senior Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine at the Cairns Hospital in Gimuy for 13 years. Before that she was the Director of Emergency Medicine of the Alice Springs Hospital in Mparntwe on Central Arrente Country for almost a decade. She is currently a Co-Chair for the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine's (ACEM) Reconciliation Action Plan Steering Group (RAP SG). She is passionate about improving the experience for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Australian EDs by embedding cultural safety within all of models of care and practice.
