

Join the ACT branch for their 2024 symposium and re-discover the 'forgotten organ'. This half day symposium on Saturday 24 August 2024 will focus on dermatology, the eyes and mouth.
Workshop sessions will provide an interactive environment for attendees to work through case studies associated with the presentations by expert presenters.
This event will be in person at the ANU Medical School Auditorium at the Canberra Hospital, and held virtually. Food and drinks to be provided.

A/Prof Andrew Miller, Dermatologist, Canberra Hospital / North Canberra Hospital, Canberra, ACT
A/Prof Andrew Miller is the former President of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and head of the dermatology department at Canberra Hospital. A/Prof Miller is a member of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) ‐ Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Board and formerly on the AMA Federal Council as well as a Director of the Council of Presidents of Medical Colleges. He was President of the ACT Australian Medical Association (AMA) from 2012 to 2014. He teaches at the Australian National University Medical School, Canberra, and supervises vocational trainees of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. In 2018 A/Prof Miller was made a member of the General Division of the Order of Australia for his contribution to the field of Dermatology and professional organisations. In 2019 he was awarded the Australasian College of Dermatology Silver medal in recognition of outstanding services to the college and the wider dermatology community.
Dr Geoffrey Broadhead, Ophthalmologist, The Canberra Hospital, Canberra, ACT
Dr Geoffrey Broadhead is a medical retina specialist, oculoplastics specialist and general ophthalmologist. After completing ophthalmology training, he subsequently undertook subspeciality fellowship training in both the United States and the United Kingdom, including at the world-famous US National Institutes of Health. He currently practices in Canberra and regional NSW in both the private and public systems, and is an active clinician-scientist conducting research into retinal diseases and treatments, including collaborations worldwide with colleagues in multiple countries.
Clare Young, Speech Pathologist, The Canberra Hospital, Canberra, ACT
Clare Young completed a Bachelor of Science at Otago University (New Zealand) before going on to complete a Masters of Speech Pathology from Melbourne University. Clare has now been working at Canberra Hospital for two and a half years, during which she has been trained in completing Videofluoroscopy and fibreoptic swallowing studies independently. Clare has experience working with a range of adult populations, including stroke patients, and is currently working in the radiation oncology space with the head and neck cancer population.
Accreditation is currently being sought after for this event.
