Registrations now open for ‘limitless’ MM2026 in golden year

Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) has announced the opening of registrations for its landmark 50th national conference, Medicines Management 2026 (MM2026), alongside the unveiling of its first two keynote speakers - Dr Gemma Munro and Barry Du Bois.

Taking place at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from 22–24 October 2026, MM2026 is set to break boundaries, bringing together pharmacy leaders, researchers and practitioners from across Australia and beyond under the theme ‘Limitless’. Abstracts are invited in three categories: Original research, Pharmacy practice and Case reports, with submissions due by 11.59pm AEST Tuesday 9 June 2026.

Dr Gemma Munro, an award-winning speaker and leadership coach with a PhD in performance psychology, will open the conference, setting the tone for a program that will inspire confidence, courage and impact. With more than two decades of experience working with global organisations including Google, Amazon and the UK’s NHS, Dr Munro is renowned for helping individuals and teams unlock their potential and lead with clarity and purpose.

MM2026 Scientific Program Committee Chair Stephen Louey FANZCAP (EmergMed) said Dr Munro was a natural choice to open the milestone event.

‘We want to challenge MM2026 delegates to look inward - helping them overcome limiting beliefs, imposter syndrome and self-doubt, and recognise their own limitless potential.

'We excited to see Dr Munro’s keynote set the tone - empowering individuals to believe in their capabilities, their capacity to lead, and their ability to create meaningful change.’

Joining the keynote lineup is Barry Du Bois, one of Australia’s most recognisable and respected voices on resilience, mental health and human connection. Known for his role on Network 10’s The Living Room, Barry will take to the MM2026 stage to share his deeply personal story of overcoming life-threatening illness and adversity, and the lessons it offers for both professional and personal life.

A Board Director of R U OK? and ambassador for the Leukaemia Foundation, Barry has used his lived experience with cancer to inspire Australians to approach life with greater perspective, resilience and openness.

Mr Louey said Barry’s keynote will bring a powerful human dimension to the conference.

‘Barry has an extraordinary ability to connect with people through honesty and lived experience. His story is not just about resilience, but about perspective, purpose and the importance of human connection.

‘In a profession that is deeply centred on caring for others, his message will resonate strongly - reminding us that leadership is as much about empathy and courage as it is about expertise.

‘We’re incredibly proud to welcome Barry to the MM2026 stage.’

Early bird registrations are now open for what promises to be a defining moment for the profession, as MM2026 celebrates 50 years of advancing pharmacy practice and improving patient care.

With a dynamic scientific program, world-class speakers and opportunities to connect with peers from across the country and internationally, MM2026 is set to be the most significant Medicines Management conference yet.

Pharmacy professionals across all career stages are encouraged to secure their place early.
