Call for Abstracts open for landmark 50th Medicines Management conference
Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) is unlocking the limitless potential of advanced pharmacy practitioners with the Call for Abstracts now open for Australia’s largest and most influential scientific pharmacy conference - Medicines Management 2026 (MM2026).
Marking a milestone 50th national conference, MM2026 will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from 22–24 October 2026. This year’s theme, ‘Limitless’, explores the growing impact of advanced pharmacy practice and invites pharmacy leaders, researchers and practitioners from across Australia and around the world to come together to celebrate progress, share ideas and push the boundaries of patient care.
The Call for Abstracts is open to pharmacists, technicians and collaborators eager to showcase groundbreaking research, innovative practice and real-world insights from hospitals and across all care settings. Submissions are encouraged from the entire profession — from students and early-career practitioners to experienced and leading pharmacists, researchers and technicians.
To meet strong interest each year, abstract submissions have opened earlier than usual and will remain open until 11.59pm AEST, Tuesday 9 June 2026. Contributions are welcomed across three categories: original research, pharmacy practice, and case reports.
AdPha President Tom Simpson FANZCAP (Lead&Mgmt) says the 50th conference is a ‘golden’ moment for the profession to reflect on how far pharmacy has come - and where it can go next.
‘Medicines Management has always been where ideas turn into momentum for our profession. In this milestone year, we’re celebrating not just our history, but the incredible innovation happening right now across pharmacy teams everywhere.
‘The ‘Limitless’ theme is a reminder that great ideas can come from any setting and by anyone interested in making a difference - big or small – to pharmacy practice. If you’ve discovered a new way to improve care, this is your opportunity to share it and inspire others.’
With more than 80 oral and 350+ poster presentation places available, MM2026 is offering a powerful platform for presenting progress, building connections and influencing the future of medicines management.
MM2026 Program Committee Chair Stephen Louey FANZCAP (EmergMed) says submitting an abstract is often the first step toward wider impact.
‘Each year we see ideas presented at Medicines Management that go on to shape practice, inform policy and improve outcomes for patients across the country.
‘Whether you’re presenting for the first time or returning to the program, MM2026 is your chance to contribute to something bigger - a national conversation about how pharmacy can continue to lead in safer, smarter use of medicines.
‘We’re especially excited to welcome the profession together for this 50th landmark event, showcasing established leaders and supporting the energy and ambition of the next generation of pharmacists and technicians.’
