AdPha announces new strategic partnership with Therapeutic Guidelines
Key clinical resources for Australian healthcare professionals are set to become more accessible following the announcement of a partnership between Therapeutic Guidelines and Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha). The partnership will promote the quality use of medicines by enhancing access to trusted, evidence-based clinical resources that support decision making at the point of care, including Don’t Rush to Crush, Australia’s long-standing trusted guide to safely administering oral medicines to people with enteral feeding tubes or swallowing difficulties, and ObesiD, an industry-first resource designed to enhance care for patients with obesity.
An Australian-first, ObesiD will provide concise evidence-based advice on more than 70 medicines and guidance on dosage adjustment principles to support use of medicines in patients with obesity. With approximately one-third of Australian adults living with obesity, and a further 30% being overweight, the dedicated guide is essential to equip healthcare professionals with evidence-based strategies to tailor patient treatment.1
In line with Australia's broader digital healthcare transition, ObesiD will be accessible through a dedicated web and mobile app, with features including an integrated body weight calculator. The advanced digital experience is designed to support health professionals in delivering confident patient care. ObesiD will be available on Therapeutic Guidelines platforms 16 March 2026. Users with access to Therapeutic Guidelines will now be able to seamlessly switch between products.
Included in the Pharmacy Board of Australia’s list of essential references for pharmacy practice, the new Don't Rush to Crush web app includes information on more than 600 oral medicines available in Australia. The point of care resource is set to become more widely accessible with a dedicated product app, enhanced user-centric design, upgraded search and will be available on Therapeutic Guidelines platforms from 23 March 2026.
Trusted by clinicians for 15 years, Don’t Rush to Crush is researched, reviewed and consistently updated by multidisciplinary experts for Australian practice, and in recent years has expanded through Australia-first dispersion testing, Australia-first oral liquid thickness testing and in response to medicines shortages.
Maintaining their commitment to promote the quality use of medicines, Therapeutic Guidelines will introduce additional guidelines throughout 2026. The Kidney and Urinary guidelines and Sleep Disorders guidelines will further support practitioners in delivering optimal care. Updates to the Antibiotic guidelines will also be published, building on the extensive 2025 update.
Therapeutic Guidelines CEO, Dr Leigh-Anne Claase, welcomed the collaboration.
“This partnership represents an exciting and innovative step forward in Australian health publishing. By working closely with AdPha, we can bring vital guidance to even more health professionals nationwide. We will continue to provide resources that are not only reliable and evidence based, but also more accessible and user friendly for the Australian healthcare community.” said Dr Claase.
AdPha Chief Executive Kristin Michaels emphasised the importance of safeguarding Australian expertise to uphold the care of Australia patients.
“We are so pleased to be working with Therapeutic Guidelines, combining our expertise to develop resources that meet the unique needs of Australian healthcare professionals and their patients,”
“As our population ages and more people take more medicines, there is only one Don’t Rush to Crush: Australia’s indispensable frontline resource when managing risk and ensuring quality care for patients with enteral feeding tubes or swallowing difficulties, in all healthcare settings.”
Through this partnership, Therapeutic Guidelines and Advanced Pharmacy Australia reaffirm their commitment to creating reliable, independent and evidence-based Australian clinical resources, now and into the future.
