Intern program information

GV Health offers two pharmacy intern positions per year and a comprehensive and structured training program. GV Health’s Pharmacy intern program is a structured intern training program including rotations through dispensary, emergency, medical, rehabilitation, surgical, intensive care, mental health, antimicrobial stewardship and oncology. A dedicated weekly tutorial program supports the development of clinical knowledge, skills, and professional capability. Interns are also encouraged and assisted to participate in research projects. Interns are supported by their preceptor, an individual mentor and the rest of the pharmacy team to develop the skills required for registration as a pharmacist. GV Health also have Allied Health Educator run programs available to develop skills such as interprofessional collaboration, communication and critical thinking. GV Health partners with hospitals across North and North East Victoria, offering further support, networking opportunities, and access to practice mock exams.
