

The Foundation Seminar in Mental Health will be delivered by a combination of a 6 week self-paced learning package covering the fundamentals of Mental Health conditions and therapeutic principles, followed by a one day live virtual seminar where this knowledge will be expanded upon and applied practically. Participants will reflect upon overcoming common stigmas and challenges associated with Mental Health and the provision of equitable, holistic and consumer-centred care. The seminar will cover Mental Health conditions and pharmacological management options, including long-acting injections and clozapine. Aspects of Mental Health which are unique to the specialty and setting and specific psychotropic medicines information resources will be explored. Knowledge-check questions will be utilised in the self-paced learning package to assist in cementing participants’ learning ahead of the live seminar day. Participants will explore key concepts in greater detail in live case study sessions. There will be opportunity to engage in Q&A with expert presenters during the live seminar day.
The self-paced learning package comprises approximately 6.5 hours of learning materials and will be available from Friday 22nd April 2022. The live virtual component of this seminar will take place on Saturday 4th June 2022.
