The Foundation Seminar in Surgery and Perioperative Medicine will be delivered by a combination of self-paced learning of approximately 6.5hrs of learning materials (available from Friday 24 March 2023) and a live virtual seminar on Saturday 6 May 2023. The seminar will provide opportunities to learn about perioperative pharmacy practice at a foundational level. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the common surgical procedures performed in Australia, peri- and post operative management of nausea and vomiting, antimicrobial stewardship and pain management. The seminar will include integrated cases so seminar attendees can actively apply their knowledge in managing medicines in the surgical setting. This seminar is targeted at pharmacists with less than 5 years of clinical experience, or those who may be rotating into a surgical ward.
The self-paced learning package comprises approximately 6.5 hours of learning material.
